Thanks for the review. You've sparked my interest to read it - or at least speed read it. Wouldn't we all like the four hour work week, but it's refreshing to see you address it with a dose of reality.

Hmmm. I'd better get the text version so I can speed read through it and save myself the pain of listening to URLs read aloud. Great, honest review!

Thanks Juliet and Arswino for the comments. I think the book was quite entertaining, it's a bit like a single long continuous rant for the first few chapters. Still valuable content, just funny how it is presented.

Hi Mike

Really interesting.
Last week I received the book as a gift and have only just started reading it.
I haven't read any previous reviews, but I have watched an interview with Tim and already see some of the points you make.
I do feel a bit of the "wow, if this is how it works - or is meant to work - then I am way behind".

Great to hear your thoughts again,

Thanks Viriya, ya this one is a love hate feeling at the end. I actually feel quite sorry for Ferris in hearing and reading most of his comments about achievement and what he sacrifices to get it. Those things he loses he clearly doesn't value and the relationship and friendships missed because of how he lives his life is not something I would want. Some of the adventurous lifestyle sure, but I would never sacrifice relationships and friendships at the expense of extravagance.

Either way, he has wonderful ideas about being more effective, living smarter and I'm certainly going to adopt some of them. Glad you say some of the same mixed feelings from it. I have heard the same from several friends who recommended it to me to hear my thoughts.

Very thoughtful review, Mike! I read this book and I could not tell whether I love it or hate it. A mixed feeling is indeed what describes my emotion towards 4 Hour Workweek.

I am fascinated by how Tim Ferris lives his life and admitted that it sounds cool to be like that. However, I am not sure if I want to follow his footsteps. I am not sure whether I like the idea of 4 hour since I believe in hard work. Forty hours workweek sounds right to me.
