It was great listening to your maiden podcast Mike. And it is a good interactive one on a very valuable issue of helping your people develop. I also reckon it has a lot holistic side to it: we attempt, is a very responsible way cultivating the decision making ability in others; what’s also pertinent in this context, as you mention in your podcast by letting those people get the confidence by encouraging them not to be overwhelmed by the prospect [rather of failure] from their decisions. Not to underestimate the other significant point you make: of trying to let them know, if the decision they come up with isn’t a great one.

It is crisp, valuable and King Style!

By the way, to all readers (or rather listeners in this case), I testify that Mike practices what he preaches: When I used to work with Mike, he always encouraged me to come up with solutions and suggestions when I approached him. This has enabled me over the years to think through the issue before throwing in the towel and look around for some spoon-feeding. Thank you Mike!
