Wow this certainly looks like a great read! Hopefully I can request it at the library here at school. I can say from personal experience.... I am currently a Finance major right now in my 3rd year, I did experience one set back... that set me back 1 year in terms of my studies. Because I had to take a year off to get some things straightened out. I can 100% agree that the experience of having to be forced to take time off from my studies, made me stronger as an individual, and as a result, when I came back to school this semester, I am performing better in classes, and doing better overall.

Till then,

@sus - Looking forward to hearing what you thought of the book sus, I know you will like it!

@Bunny - I definitely agree, its quite new but should be stocked in stores now...

@Armen - Those 2 steps in adversity made me really take in that area of the book. Its such an obvious yet missed point about self-improvement it was a bit of an ah-ha moment for me when reading it. Everything around that topic then really set in for me. I hope you get as much out of it as I did. I'll have to read this one again sometime as well (and that's rare for me).

@Denise - I hope you read it AND put it in your library. Just kidding, I know that's what you meant. Enjoy it, its a great book!

@Steve - Hmm... Learning something to me, whether its about your brain, your actions or skills or other things is all about put attention, knowledge and then practice together to improve something. If you want to improve left brain thinking, you must build on those that you have and reinforce more left mind things.

Of course then you can also look to build linearity into your creative side since you can still benefit most from your right side if its dominant. You don't want to replace one side with the other, but embrace it. I'll have to put some thought to this, its an interesting question and I guess WAY off topic for this article.

Mike, thanks for the great information. I have a question: I am definitely more right brained, less analytical. How does a right brainer become more left brained? Any tips for thinking more in more systemic and linear ways? Sounds like a good topic for a future post!!

Hi Mike.

I like the relevancy of the two steps in adversity. The speed of transfer from step 1 to step 2 might be one of the signs of how successful a person is or will be, just like their level of vocabulary. Speed of implementation would be a related item of comparison.

The point about viewing work as a means to greater benefits or enjoyment seems to have been understood by a minority of individuals.

I will do some reading of this book.
