Great article. It is true that good leadership is not common in most companies. In a lot of cases it is just given to the person ho has been there the longest or maybe the one who has the most sales, but usually not someone who knows how to lead.

Hi Mike and Dan, this article was excellent. That little box at the top of the article summarizing characteristics of great leaders is wonderful. It's also why there are so few of them - not to many leaders display those characteristics on a consistent basis. They seem to read too much of their own press.

@Dragos - this is one of many if you ask me. A great article with obviously lots people can attach strong agreement with. Thanks for your highlight and for stopping by.

@Cashbackcard - Why is it surprising to you that humble servant leadership can go a long way?

@Hripsime - There are natural aspects of leaderships and learned aspects. Sometimes those learned aspects come as a result of unintentional experiences so they seem to be natural, but either way there is a BIG part of leadership that is learned. Servant leadership especially since servant leadership is something that is quite deliberate and it goes against the very grain of most societal programming the general public is exposed to.

I've often seen leadership as natural skill one seems to acquire at a young age, and something very difficult to acquire as as adult. By the time you have reached the work force, you should ideally have a sense as to how strong your leadership skills are.

WOW!! What a great article! It's very suprising how much a humble servant leader really can go a long way. But, the problem is so many people out there are just looking out for themselves and not the best interest of the overall company. But, this great article has a great examples of people serving there companies over there personally desires.

Great information!
