Some Holiday Season 3D Images
3D December 31st, 2008Some Eye Candy and Holiday Cards to Finish Off 2008
I wanted to finish the year off with some amazing 3D images. These are not my own but are from a variety of artists that I’ve really enjoyed the artwork and 3D content from this past year. They use the same 3D software that I do and there are countless more images in the community forum here from Luxology , the makers of modo, which was used for ALL of these inspiring 3D images. I hope you enjoy them. Happy New Year!!

That lizard is awesome. I wonder if they can train him to blow too. That would be a funny picture.
Thanks for bringing a little fun to my morning.

Hi Mike, all of those are beautiful images. I like the crystal christmas tree.
Happy New Year too, Mike. I wish you all the best in the year of 2009.

I like the beautiful interiours very much and I have seen a reptile wearing Santa’s clothes for the first time in my life.Besides its ”Face” is so photogenic, the top model is a dream of any photographer.

Thanks guys for the comments. The lizard and Christmas tree won the top places for a Christmas image competition so you guys have a good eye for the best stuff.
Dicki, I too love the interiors here, they are just so detailed and realistic.

These are great.
I am still trying to conquer Blender.Unfortunately the tutorials are hard to follow.
So our house is laid out on Photo shop but with no details.Yeah, that is my job.

Today my son drew birds using your wonderful photos of a parrot and an eagle.HE painted the parrot in the same colours as your bird has.Such a great usage in practice.

Those images are fantastic. Did you have a knack for graphic design or is it something that came with lots and lots of practice?

@Bunny, I’ve played in Blender but not much since I strictly use high end commercial apps for my 3D. It is a great option for free though no doubt!
@Dicki, That is great to hear! That bird is one of the most impressive models I’ve seen in 3D for quite some time.
@HIB, they are great images, they are not mine though. I do however do 3D graphics. I certainly have a knack for design (not just in 3D) as I am a very creative person. It hasn’t happened though without hundreds of hours of practise, so I guess both to answer your question!

If Only I could follow the tutorials!
I am no designer but he(Thumper) finds ways to amuse me.
He has all the good stuff on his set up.
Wondering why I don’t download his stuff.I watch him work and he explains it to me as he does it.He hasn’t offered and I haven’t asked.
I really have to think it is just his way of keeping it a “together thing” to do.
He loves to see me tackle something new.Gotta love him!

Yes, that parrot is very impressive. Photographic quality. I was wondering how long it took to set up and render that one.
@Bunny: I struggled through a couple of the Blender tutorials. I ran into the problem that the tutorials were written for a previous version and I had to do things a little differently on the current version. It took a while, but I got through.

I am not an expert in judging which is the best image but at first glance it seems some pictures look real 🙂
